Join The Legacy
The Savannah Kiwanis Club warmly welcomes anyone willing to dedicate some of their time, skills, and resources to bettering the lives of children in Savannah and Chatham County. We welcome you to join our weekly gatherings or any Kiwanis event, offering a chance to engage with our devoted members and truly understand our mission and values. Our club meets in the heart of the historic district downtown, gathering every Tuesday at 12:30pm at the renowned Pirates House on East Broad Street.

For those new to our community, we periodically host orientation sessions and social meet-ups, ensuring a smooth integration into our club. Our dedicated Membership Team will ensure you're well-informed of these occasions.

Every new or potential member is paired with a "sponsor", a guiding figure to introduce you to fellow members and highlight opportunities for involvement. Should you not already have a sponsor, the Savannah Kiwanis Club will ensure one is assigned to support your journey with us.
OUR IMPACT
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. Kiwanis clubs and members conduct service projects. They hold fundraisers. They donate to the Kiwanis Children’s Fund. They change children’s lives in their own communities and through international initiatives — helping young people develop mentally, physically and emotionally
Every year, Kiwanis members stage more than 150,000 service projects, devote more than six million hours of service and raise nearly US$100 million for children, families and communities around the world. Kiwanis club projects are based on the community’s needs — we build playgrounds, purchase medical equipment, stuff backpacks with school supplies, restock libraries and much more.
WHY VOLUNTEERISM IS IMPORTANT

Facilitates Human Connection
Volunteering gives you the chance to meet new people and can improve your social and relationship skills. Volunteering with family members or friends can provide an opportunity to spend meaningful time with those people, thereby strengthening those relationships.

Sense of Purpose
A lot of research has been done on the link between altruism and happiness. The happiness that many people feel as a result of volunteering may be related in part to the increased sense of purpose and self-confidence experienced when people are generous with their time and energy.

Can Help Lengthen Your Lifespan
In addition to its emotional and mental benefits, volunteering can improve your physical health. Volunteering can lower stress levels and enhance peoples’ overall sense of well-being, both of which can have positive effects on physical health. Many volunteering opportunities also entail physical labor, which can be a great source of exercise.
